Completed Projects – July and August

I don’t know how the days keep racing by, but I forgot to check-in on this in July, and this might be the longest I’ve ever honored a yearly resolution, so I refuse to lose track or give up.  Here’s the round-up of a few completed projects I’ve done.

  • I neglected to take a photo of this, but I made another car cozy for a one-year-old’s birthday, and this time I put an “E” on the front for his initial instead of a car.  It turned out pretty cute despite the fact that I didn’t realize I was out of piping until I was knee-deep in the project, and I had to leave it out.
  • This hardly counts as a craft, but I also put together this little Pinterest find, and I love having a place to write out our meal list that is not a crumpled sheet of paper on the fridge.

Other things I managed to finish…..

A lightweight cowl.  It’s essentially a “for looks only” knit in that it doesn’t add real warmth.  Perfect for our pretend falls here in the south.

I also managed to finish my first hat, despite the fact that I lost the pattern, so I had to wing it there at the end.  (And taking photos of yourself in the bathroom mirror feels pretty awkward.)

I made a few headbands using this easy tutorial.  It was pretty much impossible to self-direct a photo that looks decent, but you get the idea.

I made this (thanks to Pinterest) for Jude’s upcoming birthday party.

And I made a table runner as well.  I couldn’t hold back when I found inexpensive Little Engine that Could fabric that is perfect for our old-school train party.

And last but not least, a handful of scrapbook pages.  I can’t believe I’ll soon be closing in on the end of this album.

So that’s it for the crafting round-up.  I have some gifty things I am finishing up, and I mailed out Jude’s birthday invitations yesterday, so I’ve got lots of party crafts on the horizon as well. I’ll check in soon, I hope, with something a little less boring, but I love that this little space forces me to keep track of what I’ve done.  Happy Wednesday, readers.

  1. All of the crafts look great and you you are such a scrap book pro! I love it. I can’t wait to see how the 2 year party turns out, the one year was adorable. I just had Zion’s 4 year and had no idea just how much I would enjoy it!

  2. Just catching up on months of blog posts and decided to just look at the photos. Loved all the Jude photos, especially the one from the strawberry picking where he is covered with berries he’s eaten! And I will definitely be reading your freezer cooking post soon. Your knitting and other projects all look great!
